Mission Workshop's New On

Jun 19, 2023Jun 19, 2023

Born from the bike messenger scene, San Fransisco’s Mission Workshop has released its new On-Bike Storage System bags – kinda like a pared-down set of bikepacking bags, but for everyday riding. Introducing the Slice Frame Bag, Toro Handlebar Bag, and Mission Saddle Bag.

The Mission Workshop has been making durable bike bags & gear since 2009 and the new USA-made, durable and versatile Storage System fits right into that ethos.

The three-piece Mission Workshop bags System is designed to keep your gear organized and secure while out on the road or trail for longer rides. The bags are made of Dimension Polyant X-Pac fabrics and are “compatible with all road, gravel, and commuter bikes”.

The Toro Handlebar Bag bag gets its name from a favorite San Fransisco burrito shop and is put together with advanced materials using weatherproof construction. The result is a traditional burrito-style handlebar bag that is again, “compatible with all road, gravel, MTB, and commuter bikes”.

The Toro is said to be stable when attached, resulting in “zero bounce even on the toughest trails”, thanks to a universal attachment system ensuring a perfect fit with all handlebars and stem sizes.

The Toro is 1.7 liters in volumes, measuring 9″ x 4″ at a weight of 128g.

The Mission Saddle Bag will attach to any seat, whether it’s a Road bike, MTB, or Gravel bike. It’s small, so compatible with all dropper posts, as well. Being constructed using waterproof Dimension Polyant VX fabric and Hypalon, the Mission is highly water-resistant and quick drying.

It uses a compact design with a YKK Aquaguard zipper and is outfitted with four internal elastic pockets to keep your tools stable while keeping them where you put them.

Oh yeah, and thanks to the simple velcro strap-on attachment, you don’t have to be limited to just tucking it under your saddle rails. Strap them on everywhere!

The Mission measures 5″ x 3.5″ x 1.5″ and weighs a claimed 70g.

The Slice Frame Bag is the star of the three-piece collection of Mission Workshop bags. It’s created to maximize storage without getting in the way of cables, bottles, cages, or knees.

It has the ability to fit into the front triangle of road and gravel frames without interfering with water bottle access, and in a shape that works with conventional or sloping geometry. The Slice Frame bag might be a good alternative for someone that needs storage, but doesn’t have a lot of real estate on their bars, doesn’t like the aesthetics of a handlebar bag, and can’t deal with a top tube bag.

The Slice is made in the USA with Dimension Polyant X-Pac fabrics and Hypalon. It’s highly water-resistant and features YKK Aquagaurd zippers on the main compartment and its external pocket. The Slice has two elastic tool keepers for Co2 cartridges, multi-tools, or whatever you want to take with you securely inside… no matter what or where you ride.

The Slice is just 1.56 liters in storage volume. It measures 12″ x 12″ x 8″ and weighs 129g.
